Final Schedule for June 1st TMC Meet Me Downtown

Friday, May 31, In-person Registration and Packet Pickup:

3:00 pm – 6:00 pm, at The Running Shop, 3055 North Campbell Ave

Step 1: Come to the tent outside the Running Shop and give your name to the volunteers.

Step 2: Our race timer (Roadrunner Race Timing) is using the new RunSignup tool of dynamic bib numbers, so when they get your name the volunteers will make a race number for you and do a quick check of your race info.

If you are doing the TMC 5k only, they will give you a TMC 5k number and send you inside to get the blue TMC 5k shirt.

If you are also part of the Gabe Zimmerman Triple Crown, they will also give you your souvenir medallion and your pink Triple Crown shirt, then you go inside to get your blue TMC shirt.

FITKIDZ: FitKidz registrants can pick up their numbers, but will pick up their other FitKidz goodies at the SAR FitKidz tent on Saturday night between 5:00-6:20pm

OPEN AND HIGH SCHOOL MILE: If you signed up for the Open Mile or High School Mile, you will get a Festival of Miles number, but no shirt. All Mile finishers will receive a Raising Cane’s coupon cards at the finish line.

NOTES:

Yes: If you are going to have to miss the race, send someone to packet pickup and they can snag your items.

Yes: People can still register in-person, using cash, check, or online payment

Yes: T-shirt sizing first come, first served, so come early to get the size that fits

Yes: You can pick up items for friends — please limit the number of packet pickups if it is crowded.

Yes: It may be crowded, so please be kind to the staff at the Running Shop and the volunteers.

Yes: You can shop at the Running Shop, so you should buy all sorts

Saturday, June 1, Race Night Schedule, 200 South Sixth Avenue, near 12th Street, Downtown Tucson

4:00 pm Children’s Museum

From 4-6 pm, the Children’s Museum courtyard will be open for free to the public. All children must be accompanied by an adult. No adults without children.

5:00 pm Expo + Food Trucks

  • In Armory Park: visit the expo tents set up by SAR, Raising Cane’s, Tucson Medical Center, the Running Shop, HOKA shoes, Yoga Pod Tucson, Jacuzzi Bath Remodel, StretchLab, Neutherapeutics, Natural Grocers, Skratch Labs, Old Tucson, and El Tour de Tucson, and more.
  • On the Children’s Museum Lawn: check out race beneficiary BEYOND, visit the folks from Pima County Library and snag a free book, or play games with City of Tucson’s READY, SET, REC

5:00 – 6:30 TMC 5k Registration and Packet Pickup, 200 South Sixth Avenue

Here’s how it works:

  • We’re setting up a chute-based system in front of the Children’s Museum for those who pick up their race items on race day and for those who want to register in person on race day.
  • You’ll enter from the north, then use the dynamic bib system to get assigned a race number, then get your blue TMC Meet Me Downtown shirt, if eligible. If you have not registered for the Triple Crown, you can then leave the chute.
  • If you have registered for the Triple Crown, continue along the chute to receive your souvenir desktop medallion and your coral GabeZ shirt from the BEYOND tent, then exit the chute system to the south.
  • Yes: T-shirt sizing first come, first served, with no guaranteed sizing
  • Yes: You can pick up items for friends
  • Yes: in person registration is available, online, cash or check.

6:00 pm Music starts, Pueblo Vida Beer Garden Opens

  • Your race number gives you a free sample with $5 additional pours (21-and-over, so bring ID as needed!)

6:00 pm Start Open Raising Cane’s Mile Race and Raising Cane’s High School/Junior High Mile

  • Prize money for top Open mile finishers; HOKA awards for top high school finishers, Raising Cane’s gift card for all finishers
  • Please remember to use safety pins to wear your number low on the front of your shirt (or shorts)
  • Milers will start under the arch, facing south

6:30 pm Start SAR FitKidz Mile

  • Pick up your FitKidz number at the registration tables near the Children’s Museum beginning at 5:00 pm, but after you get your number, swing by the SAR FitKidz tent for additional FitKidz goodies
  • Raising Cane’s Achievement Award gift card and SAR FitKidz finisher ribbons for all FitKidz finishers
  • Please remember to use safety pins to wear your number on the front of your shirt
  • Milers will start under the arch, facing south

7:00 pm Start TMC 5k Run/Walk

  • Please remember to use safety pins to wear your number low on the front of your body
  • Runners will line up facing south on either side of 6th Avenue
  • Please line up by estimated finish time, with 5-minute milers at the front.
  • All 5k runners and walkers can start on both sides of the planters in the middle of Sixth Avenue facing south
  • If you’re going to stroll and enjoy your trip through scenic Armory Park, please let the speedsters get out of the way first!
  • The race is chip-timed so your starting time begins when you cross the start line mats — and your finish time ends when you cross the finish line mats. If you don’t cross the mats your time will not register.
  • All 5k runners and walkers will finish going north under the large blue arch on the east side of the road (see image from 2024 below)

8:30 or so Awards Announced at Run Tucson and Running Shop Tents, in Armory Park

  • 5k Age Group awards for top men and women, courtesy of The Running Shop and HOKA
  • Prize Money for top men and women courtesy of TMC and Run Tucson
  • There is a non-binary category, but due to limited participation there are no awards in 2024
  • All prize money will be based on gun-time, all age-group awards will be chip-time.

Post-Race at Pueblo Vida

  • Thanks to Pueblo Vida for providing the beer for the Beer Garden — be sure to stop by their Brewing Company at 115 East Broadway.

Post-Race After-Party at Hotel Congress

  • Bring your race number to Hotel Congress after the event and enjoy live music and special post-race discounts by our friends at Hotel Congress at 311 East Congress.

Post-race through June. Shirts and medals of registrants who cannot make race weekend will be available at The Running Shop, 3055 North Campbell through the end of June. T-shirt sizing first come, first served. We will donate all remaining souvenirs on July 1st, so please be sure to pick up your items or send someone to pick them up before July 1st. We’re super grateful to Lucas Tyler and the whole crew at The Running Shop for all the help with this event.
