Reminder to Make a Team for June 1 TMC Meet Me Downtown 5k

Hello to the Run Tucson list, from near and far —

Well, we had a busy week since our last newsletter.

First stop was the RRCA Annual Convention in Southern California. In addition to sessions on club management best practices, group runs, and other Convention activities, our teaching team taught a sold-out Level One Coaching seminar and a Level Two class for current coaches.

At the Convention, Tucson’s own Tim Bentley was named to the team of RRCA Board of Directors as West Regional Representative. Way to go, Tim — thanks for your service to the national running community!

After the Convention, we dashed to Phoenix for the Division III State Track and Field Championships on Friday and Saturday. Our son, Aric (#2754), joined teammates Natu, Nate, and Christiano in winning the 4x800m relay, helping Salpointe Catholic High School to their second Boy’s State Championship in a row. The Girl’s team also took first place, for a Salpointe team sweep!

Then on Sunday, we cheered all the 10k runners and walkers at the turn-around of SAR’s Cinco de Mayo 10k. Congratulations to all the finishers in the FitKidz Mile, the 5k, and the 10k!

Moving forward, we’re super-psyched for the TMC Meet Me Downtown 5k and the Raising Cane’s Festival of Miles, on Saturday night, June 1st.

Today, we’re reminding you to join with friends or family and make a team of 5 or more.

Pricing is a mere $40 for adults in the 5k, with each member of group of 5 or more receiving a $5 discount. Read below for the Team FAQ, registration info, and a list of all current teams.

Remember, there’s no need for speed, so get on the phone, send a snap, or forward this email to your favorite people — and make a team for Tucson’s most popular running and walking event!
