Below please find some details about our upcoming back-to-back events, SAR’s TMC Saguaro National Park Labor Day Run at Saguaro National Park EAST on Monday September 7th, then the 10th Annual TMC Tucson 10k/5k on Sunday, September 13th, staged at Pima Community College WEST.

But first, we wanted to take a moment to acknowledge the terrible flooding at the Grand Canyon. Many of you on this list have done Rim-to-Rim or gone down to Phantom Ranch and back up — and many of you have done our race in the Kaibab Forest, then visited the Canyon trails.
You know what those trails are like, steep and rugged, with water that seems pleasant and cooling, but that can turn vicious in a hurry.
Mayor Clarinda Vail from the Town of Tusayan speaks for many when she writes: “We are heartbroken by the news of the devastating flash flood at Phantom Ranch. We are keeping the victims, the missing, their loved ones and the brave search and rescue teams in our thoughts and prayers.”
If you have plans to travel to the Grand Canyon in the coming weeks, currently all of the services at the South Rim are open, but the North Kaibab Trail and other locations are closed for the foreseeable future.
